I have a naturally more skinny frame. I want to put on muscle without gaining excessive fat. Legs are very skinny and always feel impossible to put muscle on. What's the best way I can put on muscle and what sort of time frame am I looking? Thanks :)

Eat, eat, eat! You gotta eat in a calorie surplus. If your worried about fat gain start smaller, 250cal over maintenance calories is a good place to start. ( hit your protein goals everyday) and follow a progressive overload training program consistently… Go easy on the cardio. To much cardio will counteract the additional calories. Considering your adherence there is no reason why you couldn't add 10+ lbs in a year or so. Gaining muscle is a slow process but if you stick to it you will see results!

Additionally I recommend getting a dexa body scan to see where you are starting and then another a year from now. That's the best way to see how much actual muscle mass you gained! Helped me a ton when I started

Dangit dangit DANGIT!

This is my problem.. I got a small frame too but I love to run 3-6 miles and wanna run even longer but I wanna get bigger muscles too homez... But I can only afford to eat so much or feel I physically can.. I notice I get bigger easier when not doing cardio and just liftin but man.. I want to have a beast cardio, I want to give david goggins a run for his money.

It's a marathon not a sprint, the results will come but you have to have a dedicated mindset if that's what you truly want

You're me. Eat more, do legs 3x a week, and get enough water and sleep.

Clean eating a ton of calories. Progressive overload lifts. You HAVE to work legs. You'll feel less skinny once you start putting some width in your back and some meat on your legs.

Eat lots and do a lot of compound barbell lifts. Starting strength or a similar program would be a good starting point.

Starting Strength is good to learn the lifts, but that's about it. I've spent too much time spinning my wheels on their ultra low volume program until I pretty much designed my own upper/lower/conditioning program and gained most of my gains that way. A lot of guys just get fat on it.

More fat makes it a lot more easier to pack on muscle. Without it your progress will slow and your diet will become more strict. I don't recommend it, however, if you're 100% on a lean bulk, just increase your caloric intake in 250/300kcal increments until you begin to bulk. If you put on fat, back off on the calories.

Having a bit of fat will make you look bigger so if i was you i wouldn't be concerned about gaining fat.

No clue, but your body shape is v attractive already so keep that in mind and don't stress it too hard.

Start with a slow surplus 200-300/day. Make sure you're getting enough protein and you eat relatively clean. Don't starve yourself of carbs though. Give it a year or two to see how your body responds and tweak diet/training accordingly. Not everyone is meant to be huge and not everyone can lean out. Don't sacrifice form for heavy weights. I've been lifting for over 25 years at this point. It really a lifelong process/commitment and your goals will change with age. Stick with it, set some goals, but accept that it needs to be a part of your lifestyle for the long haul.

Eat. Doesn't cost a lot for cheap protein. Baked chicken, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, turkey meat, eggs. I used to be 165 pounds I put on 20 pounds of muscle just eating more protein. I didn't stuff my face either I just tried to get 120 grams a day. Make sure your putting in a lot of effort on leg day and make sure your getting good rest days too. 4 days on 3 days off works well for me. Also if you smoke definitely quit it will stall your gains. Not saying you do.
